The beginning of the Philippines
Been here almost a week now, time flies by so fast. But not always for the good reasons.
Cebu, Philippines

So like always I'm a little behind in the writing. But life goes by fast and it's hard to keep up. When leaving Hong kong I spent an entire day at the airport. I had a late flight and I had to check out early. So that wasn't the best of days. I then went out to explore the city a little bit and have some drinks on my first real day in Cebu, which I decided would be my next destination. It was a fun day, to begin with i realized that christmas has already begun here. A little to soon if you ask me, but not if you ask the filipo people. They have already started the decorations and playing the christmas music. I also saw an old fortress from when the spanish people were here. Which made me wonder, why the fuck is everything called spanish things, it's an old spanish colony and yet everyone here speaks english. But apparantly this used to be an american colony as well. But that's not even the wierd part. The weird part is that the Philippines used to be an american colony because Spain lost to USA in a war and had to hand it over to them. Apparantly a long time ago USA wanted Cuba to get their independence from Spain (hard to believe), but Spain didn't agree. There was a big conflict over this and after a lot of escalation Spain declared war with USA and lost. Since USA won the war they claimed the colony of the Philippines as their own from Spain. Then they started to implement their own educational system in english, which made english spread across the country and is still there today. Even after the Philippines got their independence as a result of Japan losing the second world war, in which Japan had claimed the Philippines as their own for a short while. So basicly a lot of shit went down in the Philippines because Spain didn't want Cuba to have their independence and USA wanted them to. Now if that is not some weird piece of history I don't know what. It sounds like science fiction to me. It's also the most farfetched butterfly effect I can think of. Or maybe not. The weirdest type of butterfly effect probably is when Franz Ferdinand got shot and the whole fucking world then decided to go to war with each other.
I didn't speak much about my trip this time, but i just had to get this out of my head. We can call it a filler episode, a side story or what ever. It's the type of shit you pull when you try to give yourself some extra time to come up with some better content.
Atleast I will share some pictures and hopefully keep people intrested a little while longer.
